India : Rangzen meeting in Bylakuppe
The meeting was called under the banner of Wokar Tibet website run by reincarnate lama Shingza Rinpoche of Sera monastery. Among participants were five members of the Tibetan parliament in exile and Rangzen activists and NGO heads like Lobsang Yeshi, Dhondup Lhadhar, Lukar Jam, Tenzin Choedon, Ngawang Woebar and Chime Youngdrung. The meeting discussed seven key issues including legal and historical support to the Rangzen proposition.“It’s very important that we unite out common voice and bring together our minds, resources and education to create one united force for independence. This internal dialogue must continue and we will soon be able to bring a viable alternative if there is no concrete results coming out of the talks between Dharamsala and Beijing,” Shingza Rinpoche said in his introductory speech.
Writer Tenzin Tsundue said, “We have been having series of Rangzen meetings; first in Dharamsala in 2007, Jamyang Norbu, Lhadon and Tendor helped organize one in the US, another one was held in Europe and few months back we had one in Shimla.”
Reaffirming opinions of all the MPs present there, Serta Tsultrim, the chairman of the meeting today said: “Keeping our leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama and our Government-in-Exile at highest esteem, we need to find out how best to keep the struggle alive by strengthening the struggle from the core. We must challenge China on legal, historical and on moral ground. We may not have China’s money and military power, but we are very confident on these grounds. And for that it is utmost important that we keep “Independence” as the goal of our struggle. ”
The Tibetan Youth Congress’ resolution to organize an international Rangzen conference was received with huge appreciation and hope.
The next Rangzen meeting is planned for early November in Dharamsala.
