On April 24, 2010, Huang Ciping was invited as the guest on "The Secret Truth" radio program.In the two hour long program, she talked about the issues of Chinese democracy and human rights, with particular focus on its association to the ongoing economic crisis, especially the USA trade deficit with China and the Chinese government's manipulation of the Chinese currency RenMinBi.Starting with a discussion that the so-called "free trade" with China is neither free nor fair, she highlighted and explained how present economic problems are really directly associated with the suppression of Chinese human rights, especially the exploitation of workers' rights. Yet, there are major challenges as we are trying to get out of the economic crisis, because as the average people are suffering both in America and in China, such a crisis is a bitter fruit from the joint effort between the big businesses in the USA and officials of the Chinese Communist regime. Both have gains from that joint effort.

In particular, Huang Ciping warned that this economic crisis is not simply an economic problem, more importantly, we see that the Western democracy and its people's rights are eroding away due to the influence of big business in their government. She said that even ten years ago, Mr. Wei Jingsheng had already pointed out the serious consequences to both the US economy and Chinese human rights due to the USA trade deficit with China and Chinese government’s currency manipulation. Yet, in May of 2000, big business had political influence in the Congress resulted in passage of PNTR (Permanent Normal Trade Relationship or Most Favored Nation status) to China as they wanted despite that the majority of the Americans were against it. Since then, not only the Chinese human rights have deteriorated and Chinese democracy activists like Wei Jingsheng are punished, but the US economy also has gone down with many Americans losing their jobs, their homes and their hope.

She further stated that, now, even with the reality as predicted by Wei Jingsheng ten years ago and straightforward consequences from the US trade deficit and Chinese currency manipulation which should not be hard for a smart politician to understand, one still does not see much effort from the politicians to correct their mistakes. Even a simple resolution about intentionally devalued Chinese currency could not get passed in the Congress. So as the Chinese people suffer, the Americans also suffer, except those US business and Chinese officials who would gain from these unfair practices and from unfair trading in between the two countries in the name of "free trade". The interests and rights of both average Americans and average Chinese are sold to these business and powerful.

During the two hour long interview, Huang Ciping also gave a brief introduction of her "prodigy child" background, her nuclear physics career and her human rights activities, as well as the human rights and democratic effort by the Overseas Chinese Democracy Coalition and the Wei Jingsheng Foundation. She also gave listeners the details of human rights abuses by the Chinese Communist regime and thus the serious social consequence, especially of organ harvesting from prisoners, forced abortions and abuse of women's rights, etc. Near the end, she talked about the importance of having freedom of information in China, especially Internet freedom. She called people's attention to a new category of political prisoners; the Internet prisoners.
