Dear friends,
At the end of the “1st International Forum for the Freedom of Tibet”, that we organized in Turin on May 2007, we subscribed, with your President, a “Declaration” where we, together with many other European associations and support groups, committed ourselves to:
- To support a unified independence movement which we could give our unqualified support and cooperation to realize the aspirations of the Tibetan People for an independent Tibet, that courageous activists demonstrates constantly over the years protesting inside Tibet
- To settle an appropriate strategy, based on the self-determination right of the Tibetan People, taking into account the principles ratified in the Declaration of Independence of the Nations of High Asia ( September 2006).
- To unify in a single front all the political an social forces opposing to the Chinese communist regime, in Tibet and in the other countries illegally occupied by China.
- To lay the foundations for a Free Trade Union that fights because the Tibetan workers obtain a dignified work, a right salary and the assertion of Trade Union freedom.
Consistently we fully supported the Tibetan People’s Uprising Movement and we are now ready to collaborate on the basis of this shared platform.
In this tragic months we made every possible effort to make the people know what was occurring in Tibet, to press Governments and International Institutions to act and support the events that exiled Tibetans organized in many countries.
We organized a lot of manifestations, not only in Italy, that involved thousands of workers but, notwithstanding our efforts, no European Government did anything to stop the repression and to encourage a negotiation solving the Tibetan question.
So now we think that the International Community, notwithstanding the atrocities perpetrated in Tibet, doesn’t mean to support your fight …
Europe doesn’t mean to support the self-determination right of Tibetan people and just launches some appeals to the “good will” of Chinese communists, to answer to the pressures of European public opinion, asking a strong intervention to stop at least the repression.
U.S.A. don’t go any further a general condemnation of the “abuses” perpetrated by the regime and they will not do anything more. In fact, in sight of the presidential election, anyone want to risk to lose consent or the support of the multinational corporations that sponsor the electoral campaign of the candidates.
U.N.O. and its Security Council are hostages of China and, even if they wanted, they can’t do absolutely nothing.
So we think that, considering what happened in the last months, you have to rely on yourselves only.
You can be sure, any way, of the solidarity of who, like ourselves, are ready to support your right struggle for freedom and social justice.
Organizing Resistance
In Tibet by now none hopes that the the theoreticals of the “democratic centralism” can bear even a simulacrum of administrative autonomy only.
After the tragic facts in the spring, many people understood that the struggle of liberation will be long-lasting, because the Beijing autocrats learned from the U.R.S.S. experience and they won’t repeat the same mistakes of PCUS.
So you need to overcome the still heroic spontaneity and organize the resistance.
The experience of Poland thought us that you need to build a capillary net able to organize some manifestations of civil disobedience, strikes and demonstrations, that possibly don’t expose the people to the risk of a Chinese retaliation.
But if they are alone, the still courageous Tibetan patriots have few possibilities to overthrow the communist regime.
You need to enter into an alliance and unify the efforts of the people that like to fight against the communist dictatorship.
In fact, there are other Peoples and other Nations, colonized by Chinese Popular Republic. Men and women that, as the Tibetans, feel unacceptable the oppression of a bloody regime.
You need to build a United Front of all the social and political opposition, from the East Turkestan to Tibet, from Southern Mongolia to Manchuria.
You need to join the forces and to decide a common strategy, if you want really overthrow the regime.
Besides, we think you have to construct friendly relationship of cooperation with the Chinese democrats, that tomorrow will be called to lead that country toward the transition and to create, now, the conditions for a frank debate on the future of the Nations and Peoples now colonized by Beijing.
In fact, we think that only Tibetan People has to decide about his future.
So, on tomorrow, the U. N. will have to organize, in all the territories occupied by the Chinese communists, a plebiscite to certify the willing of Tibetans to take again possession of their country and their freedom, so exercising their inalienable right to self determination.
In this perspective, we are willing to give you political and organizing support.
But we like to offer, to the patriots joining your party, even a small economic support. We ask to our militans to pay a symbolic subscription to join your organization, to help you to assert the democratic values.
Today in the community in exile, tomorrow in a Tibet free from the Chinese communist dictatorship.
Hurrah for the right struggle of Tibetan People!
Hurrah for the party of Tibetan democrats!
