Hunan: L’amministrazione dell'Ospedale Provinciale per Donne e Bambini coinvolta nella persecuzione dei praticanti del Falun Gong

Recentemente, l’amministrazione dell'Ospedale Provinciale per Donne e Bambini di Hunan ha cooperato con l’amministrazione dell'Ospedale Provinciale di Salute Mentale di Hunan, conosciuto anche come Secondo Ospedale del Popolo della provincia di Hunan, per perseguitare la praticante del Falun Gong signora He Xianggu, un'infermiera che lavora nella sala operatoria dell'Ufficio Ricezione Generale. Questo caso di persecuzione è stato esposto al pubblico.

Shandong: La persecuzione nella città di Shouguang

Prima delle Olimpiadi, la polizia della città di Shouguang ha arrestato, detenuto, multato, torturato e mandato in campi di lavoro forzato oltre venti praticanti. Durante quest’azione, hanno persino detenuto e multato persone che avevano già rinunciato alla pratica del Falun Gong sotto la persecuzione. China : Monitoring of recent recession funds questioned

Recently, the Chinese Communist government issued a speech that they will be strictly supervising the 4 trillion yu en worth of funds that will be used to help its fading economy. Prof. Xie Tian, a Commentator from Sound of Hope Radio said that the problem is that the regime does not have the infrastructure to conduct an honest supervision of these things

Economy warning from China leader

Mr Hu gave his warning at a meeting of the Politburo and his words have been made public by the state media.
As growth slows, Mr Hu said that in the coming period China would starkly confront the effects of the international financial crisis.
And he warned that the economic situation was a test of the Communist Party's ability to govern.

Recent figures show that the government has cause to be worried.

Growth has slowed to 9% - and predictions say that it may drop to 7% or 8% next year.

Lech Walesa's summit in Gdansk vs. EU-China summit in China

Former president and leader of Solidarnos'c' Lech Walesa has called "the height of insolence" China's decision to postpone a December summit with the EU after European politicians planned to meet the Dalai Lama at events celebrating the 25th anniversary of Lech Walesa's Nobel Peace Prize in Gdan'sk.

In spite of this, French President Sarkozy is still intending to meet with the Tibetan spiritual leader in Poland.

The focus of the celebrations in Gdansk will be an international conference on "Solidarity for the future" scheduled for December 6th.

Chinese Prison Covers up Death Caused by Torture

During the Beijing Olympics, Shoujun Zheng, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Liaozhong County of Liaoning Province, was found dead at the Liaoning Prison General Hospital on August 19. Officials at the hospital described the death as having occurred due to “natural causes.” After Zheng’s family questioned hospital officials regarding the “natural causes” surrounding his death, hospital staff at the prison injected medicines into his body in an effort to create the false impression that they had tried to save his life.

China : Belgian TV journalist and his crew assaulted while reporting on Aids

Reporters Without Borders today voiced dismay after Belgian journalist, Tom Van de Weghe, and his team from Flemish public television VRT were attacked and robbed by men recruited by the authorities in Henan province, central China as they reported on Aids in China.

The TV team were due to meet yesterday with several NGOs who look after Aids patients. Police and local authorities, who were apparently tipped off about the interviews, banned those working for the organisations from talking to the journalist, a VRT spokesperson said.

Oggi sono riuscito a sapere qualcosa in più sulle condanne a Luchu.
Sembra che le sentenze siano state emesse verso il 15 Novembre:
- un monaco di 22 anni è stato condannato a otto anni di carcere
- un monaco di 23 anni è stato condannato a sette anni di carcere
- un laico di 60 anni ha ricevuto una condanna a 2 anni e sei mesi
- un laico di 50 anni è stato condannato a 2 anni e sei mesi di carcere.
Purtroppo non sono riuscito ad avere i nominativi esatti dei condannati,tutti arrestati in primavera.

Taxi strike hits new Chinese city

Taxi drivers have gone on strike in the southern city of Chaozhou, the latest in a wave of protests across China.
Drivers say they are angry that nothing has been done about unlicensed cabs operating in their city.
The industrial action follows strikes in other cities that turned violent before officials bowed to irate drivers' demands.
Earlier this week, about 100 drivers threw bricks at unlicensed taxis in the province capital Guangzhou.

Tibetan delegates from 19 different countries were able to express the opinions of their fellow Tibetans in the world by collecting their views and opinions in written form. There was active democratic participation of the members during the 6 days long discussions.

China condemns France over Tibet

China says it had "no choice but to postpone" a summit with the EU because of the French stance on the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan spiritual leader.
China's foreign ministry said French President Nicolas Sarkozy's plans to meet the Dalai Lama had "deprived the summit of a good atmosphere".

Mr Sarkozy has said he will meet the Dalai Lama in Poland on 6 December.

France - holder of the EU's rotating presidency - was to have hosted the EU-China summit on 1 December.

Hebei: Notizie recenti sulla persecuzione dei praticanti del Campo di Lavoro Forzato Femminile

Più di 400 praticanti del Falun Gong sono attualmente detenuti nel Campo di Lavoro Forzato Femminile della Provincia di Hebei. Beijing police prevent European parliamentarian from visiting jailed dissident’s wife

Reporters Without Borders deplores the behaviour of the Chinese police in preventing European parliament member Helga Trüpel from visiting Zeng Jinyan, the wife of jailed dissident Hu Jia, in her Beijing apartment building today. Foreign journalists who wanted to visit Zeng were also turned back.

Hu Jia is this year’s winner of the European parliament’s Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought.

China Hit by Taxi Strikes

Cab drivers in the central province of Hubei are the latest in a string of disputes that have brought China's ubiquitous taxi services to a standstill.
HONG KONG —Authorities in the central Chinese province of Hubei are scrambling to mediate a strike by taxi drivers, the latest in a string of industrial disputes to sweep China amid the global financial crisis.

Hundreds of taxi drivers entered the second day of a strike in Suizhou city over increased business costs.

Labour unrest alarms China

BEIJING: Chinese leaders have finally admitted that the country is facing a “grim” situation on the employment front owing to the global economic crisis. An official survey has shown that demand for labour has fallen 5.5% in the third quarter of this year across 84 different cities.

Yin Weimin, head of the ministry of human resources said that labour discontent was a “top concern” of the government as the employment situation has turned “grim”.

XIAHE, China - Chinese paramilitary police with riot shields and batons abruptly took up posts Monday on the main street of this Tibetan town, disrupting the bustle of Buddhist pilgrims in a reminder of China's determined control of the region.
With some Tibetans pushing harder against Chinese rule, the communist government is determined to pacify the area.

The show of force Monday was meant to deter unrest while a local court sentenced a group of Tibetans for taking part in large anti-government protests in March in Xiahe, a small town abutting a sprawling complex of golden-roofed temples.

Liaoning: Il 22enne Lü Daixin muore appena dopo essere stato rilasciato dal Centro di Detenzione

Lü Daixin, 22 anni, viveva nella città di Dalian, provincia di Liaoning. Il 24 settembre 2008 era andato a distribuire volantini che esponevano la persecuzione del Falun Gong nel distretto di Xigang, con sua madre, Wang Fengjuan, anche lei praticante. China taxi drivers strike as economic unrest spreads

Hundreds of taxi drivers went on strike in central China today - the latest in three weeks of protests amid anxiety over the economy.
The drivers in Suizhou, in the central province of Hubei, are angered by a new licence charge imposed by the local government.
"There's not a single cab running on the roads of Suizhou now. We will not stop the strike until the government meets our demand, which is they remove their fee," one driver told the Associated Press news agency.
The intelligence company Stratfor says the rapid spread of such strikes will worry the central government.

DHARAMSALA, India -Tibetans are regularly beaten up, their homes raided at night and hundreds have gone missing as a brutal Chinese crackdown continues inside Tibet, a group of Tibetan students who escaped into India this week said.
Most Tibetan towns are “swarming” with soldiers who have been arresting people even for mentioning the name of their spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, who fled Tibet in 1959 and now lives in the northern Indian town of Dharamsala.

China : Photos Reveal Police Brutality in Longnan Riots

On November 18, 2008, an enormous display of civil unrest unfolded in Longnan City in northwestern Gansu Province. Tens of thousands of residents attempted to attack the communist party headquarters in the city and rioted in the streets, setting official vehicles on fire.
The riots were violently quashed by armed police who severely beat and even shot at many of the protesters. Several hundred farmers were wounded, dozens were in critical conditions and several were killed.
Currently, the city is under martial law and public gatherings are banned until November 23.

Recommendations of the First Special General Meeting

The Private Office's letter addressed jointly to the Speakers and the members of the Kashag (Cabinet), dated 9 November 2008, stated, "In order to hold an extensive discussion and debate with regard to the Tibetan cause in the light of recent emergency events in Tibet and the international scenario, His Holiness the Dalai Lama wishes to convene a Special General Meeting around November or December of this year under article 59 of the Charter.
