Shandong: La polizia cattura e tortura il signor Yan Meifeng nella città di Weifang
Il 18 marzo 2008, Lu Jinyong ed altri due ufficiali di polizia del commissariato del distretto di Xianshan in via Zuoshan, nella città di Weifang, provincia dello Shandong, sono andati a casa della signora Yan Meifeng. Gli ufficiali non hanno seguito nessuna procedura legale per entrare nella casa della signora Yan. Central authorities to meet Dalai's representatives in early July

BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) -- The authorities announced Sunday that relevant central government departments will meet personal representatives of the Dalai Lama at his request in early July.
The central authorities have kept a constant and clear policy towards the Dalai Lama, a government spokesman said.
"Our door is always open for the dialog with the Dalai Lama," he said, "(We) hope that the Dalai Lama would treasure this opportunity and give positive response to the requirements of the central authorities."

Unrest in Guizhou Province Quashed By Armed Police

A protest consisting of over 10,000 people in southwest China's Guizhou Province was quashed around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday June 29, according to the state-run media.
The unrest was sparked by the local Chinese authorities' cover up of an alleged rape and murder of a 15-year-old female student. Local residents told The Epoch Times similar incidents have happened many times in the past, but criminals were all spared because of their government background.

Kardze - Qualche giorno fa la polizia ha fatto irruzione nel monastero di Bheri arrestando quattro monaci accusati di aver scritto slogan indipendentisti sui muri esterni e di essersi rifiutati di firmare l’abiura. Altri monaci sono stati arrestati dopo aver tentato di incendiare il ponte sul fiume Mekong.Ora il monastero è assediato dai reparti speciali comunisti.

Girl's Death Sparks Rioting in Guizhou Province

BEIJING—Thousands of rioters torched police and government office buildings in southwest China on Saturday, in unrest triggered by allegations of a cover-up over a girl's death, residents and state media reported on Sunday.
About 10,000 people mobbed government offices in Weng'an county, Guizhou province, on Saturday afternoon demanding justice over the teenager's death after her body was found in a local river, a resident said.

Ethnic Uyghurs have held a demonstration in the European district of Brussels to protest China’s repressive policy against their 9 million strong ethnic group.
On 25 June 2008 about 150 Uyghurs from various EU countries led by their charismatic leader Rebiya Kadeer gathered with other supporters for a demonstration organized by the Munich-based World Uyghur Congress (WUC) in the European district in Brussels from 12:00 to 2:00 PM to protest China’s repressive policy against their 9 million strong ethnic group.

Dharamsala - After 110 days, the March to Tibet was officially brought to an end on Friday morning with a closing ceremony held at the Tibetan refugee camp in Paonta Sahib. The presidents of the five participating NGOs told the marchers to return to their settlements to enlist and energize their friends and family members to prepare for larger initiatives in August, during the Beijing Olympic Games.

Vi confermo che il 22 Giugno è deceduto un giovane monaco di Drepung detenuto in un carcere dell’Amdo.
Era stato arrestato a Lhasa dopo le prime manifestazioni e poi trasferito a Gormo .In prigione è stato sottoposto ad ogni genere di maltrattamento e tortura.
Molti altri monaci arrestati nella capitale nel mese di marzo sono stati trasferiti nelle carceri dell’Amdo.
Sempre nei giorni scorsi due monaci del monastero di Tashi Choekhor Ling sono stati condannati a 15 anni di carcere duro per aver partecipato ad un corteo a Dho-khor.

China: Increasing pre-Olympic repression makes at least 24 journalists arrested

Reporters Without Borders has recorded 24 cases of journalists, cyber-dissidents or free expression activists being arrested or sentenced to jail terms since the start of the year. At the same time, at least 80 foreign journalists have been obstructed in the course of their work, above all in the Tibetan regions and in Sichuan.

Nepalese police break up Tibetan protest, detain 50

Kathmandu, June 27 - Nepalese police detained about 50 Tibetan exiles who were protesting Friday against China's crackdown in their homeland, a day after the United States raised concerns about Nepal's treatment of Tibetan demonstrators.
The group of Tibetan exiles, including many monks and nuns, had gathered in front of the Chinese Embassy's visa office in the heart of Katmandu and were chanting anti-China slogans.

They were stopped by police and quickly put in vans and trucks and driven to detention centers.

Nepal Tibetan marchers halfway to the border

New Delhi, June 27 - The forty two Tibetan marchers from Nepal who left Kathmandu two days ago are now halfway from the border. The group of 25 monks, 17 nuns and 2 men who started their journey at 04:30 am June 25 reached Sankhu, a famous Buddhist pilgrimage site (Dorje Phakmo) around 20 kilometers from Boudhanath at 08:30 am where they rested briefly.

Sichuan Church faces Government persecution: 20 arrested, 7 detained, 2 sentenced to Education through Labor

SICHUAN, CHINA (ANS) — As more than 50 house church members gathered at a residence on Bei Street, Qujiang Township, Qu County of Sichuan Province, they were raided by more than 20 Public Security Bureau officials, Homeland Security Defense Brigade, the local police station, Office for Religious Affairs and cadres from neighborhood committees.

China Aid Association (CAA) said the raid occurred at approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2008. It said officials failed to show law enforcement identifications.

China Extends Christian's Detention

Authorities in Beijing have extended the detention of Christian publisher Shi Weihan by a further two months while the police gather evidence against him, his wife says. Shi has been detained without charge since March.

Pro-Tibet protester runs onto field during Euro 2008 semifinal match

BASEL, Switzerland - A pro-Tibet protester ran onto the field late in Germany's 3-2 win over Turkey on Wednesday in the European Championship semifinals.The man was wearing a T-shirt with the words "Tibet is not China," and he ran on the field at St. Jakob Park moments after Turkey had scored an 86th-minute equalizer.

Nepal Tibetans begin their March to Tibet

New Delhi, June 25 - Forty two Tibetans comprising of 23 monks, 17 nuns and 2 laymen began their journey from Kathmandu to Tibet today. The peaceful movement was spearheaded by volunteers who got together in view of the current Tibet crisis and the Nepalese Government's treatment of Tibetan protestors on its soil.

I signori Zhou Yingchun e Yang Zhaoying sono stati processati mentre erano immobilizzati a letto - nell'ospedale della contea di Suizhong - con la flebo e collegati ad ossigeno.

Oggi sono riuscito ad avere qualche dettaglio in più sulle proteste a Kardze.
Vi confermo che domenica 22 Giugno alle 11 del mattino tre monaci del monastero di Khangmar hanno inscenato una protesta davanti alla sede del governo comunista e sono stati arrestati.
Nel pomeriggio altri monaci hanno cercato di manifestare ma sono stati brutalmente percossi ed arrestati.

March to Tibet : Legal Update on Arrested Marchers

GuChuSum President Kusho Ngawang Woeber and March Coordinator Tsering Choedup travelled to Rebkong Piu to learn about the situation of the 31 marchers who were arrested while they attempted to cross the India border to Tibet on June 19. Permission for the visit was granted thanks to the efforts of Shimla RTYC President and Shimla Tenzin la who is also a member of the Local Assembly.

Mi hanno confermato che il 18 Giugno i monaci di Drepung hanno cercato di inscenare una manifestazione ma la polizia li ha costretti a rientrare nel monastero esplodendo diversi colpi di arma da fuoco a scopo intimidatorio.
Non risultano esserci stati feriti.
Lo stesso giorno anche i monaci di Sera hanno tentato di organizzare un corteo ma la polizia li ha ricacciati all’interno del monastero arrestando 12 religiosi.

China Demolishes Mosque For Not Supporting Olympics: Group

BEIJING (Reuters) - Chinese authorities in the restive far western region of Xinjiang have demolished a mosque for refusing to put up signs in support of this August's Beijing Olympics, an exiled group said on Monday.
The mosque was in Kalpin county near Aksu city in Xinjiang's rugged southwest, the World Uyghur Congress said.

The spokesman's office of the Xinjiang government said it had no immediate comment, while telephone calls to the county government went answered.
