Throughout 2011, websites, blogs and social networking sites were littered with description of the monks and nuns have set themselves on fire in Tibet. What has been the impact of the self immolation on global cognizance of China's occupation of Tibet? How has India's role in the whole relationship changed? Is India distancing from the issue of Tibet? Can India achieve peace with China when Tibetan rights are being trampled? How is Indian security in the Himalayan region, including its boundary dispute with China, connected with Tibetan issue?
